Meet the Publishers - Jimmie & Rosemarie Mesis

When the public needs help they often call upon private investigators and when many PIs need help or specific direction, they call Jimmie Mesis and Rosemarie Mesis. Their reputations as experienced and talented investigators, successful busines people, and their passion for the investigative profession has made them frequently requested mentors, instructors, motivational speakers and conference presenters.

Jimmie's career as a private investigator started after serving as a military translator in the United States Marine Corps. He became a private investigator in 1979 and quickly learned and mastered the art of finding people and conducting surveillance on the streets of New York City.

Jimmie has been recognized as an expert at finding people and gained national recognition as a featured investigator for the History Channel television show, “Operation Reunion.” There, Jimmie located and reunited soldiers who had not seen each other since the battlefields of Korea and Vietnam. He later went on to be featured in the FX television series, P.I. and as a guest on various radio and television shows. Jimmie and Rosemarie have both been featured guests on CNN’s Larry King Live show. They are also often quoted by the Associated Press, USA Today, and many other national media outlets. Each time, they have represented the profession in an admirable manner.

Rosemarie's career as a private investigator has also been uniquely diverse. She and Jimmie co-own and run several investigative related companies, including PI Magazine, the only international trade magazine for private investigators; PI bookstore.com, one of the largest single source suppliers of discounted investigation titled books; and PI Gear.com, a discount supplier of investigative gear and surveillance equipment for private investigators and law enforcement agencies.

Jimmie currently serves as the Legislative Chairman and a Director for NCISS – the National Council of Investigation & Security Services and Rosemarie also service as a Regional Directort. Both are Honorary Life Member for the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators, and Jimmie is a Life Member of the Georgia Association of Professional Private Investigators (GAPPI), and an Honorary Life Member of the World Association of Professional Investigators of London, England.

Jimmie and Rosemarie are the recipients of the NJLPIA - New Jersey Private Investigators Association Investigator of the Year Award. Jimmie has received several awards including the National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS)- Speaker of the Year, the Hal Lipset Award for Investigative Excellence presented by the World Association of Detectives, a Leadership Award and the Duffy Award, NCISS’s highest honor. Other awards include a Special Achievement Awards from the World Investigators Network, a Person of the Year Award from the Professional Association of Wisconsin Licensed Investigators, and several recognition awards from various investigative organizations from outside the United States.

Jimmie is also a past president of his state PI association and is constantly helping, teaching, and showing his colleagues on how to market and increase the growth of their businesses. He currently mentors and consults private investigators throughout the world.
