You can reach the editor by email editor@pimagazine.com
- Entitle your message “Query—PI Magazine.”
- Queries should be no more than the equivalent of one, typed page.
Include your idea, why you should be the one to write it, your estimate
of the word count, whether photos are available, whether or not it
fits into the general theme for any of the 2005 issues of P.I.
Magazine, and when you could submit the completed manuscript.
- Please DO NOT send your query as an e-mail attachment—it will
not be opened. Always include your telephone number!
HINTS FROM THE EDITOR:
- Articles must relate to the investigation profession, or at least
be of major interest to professional investigators.
- Investigative "war stories" are not appropriate for PI
Magazine. Anecdotes that illustrate or educate may be used in
an article, however.
- Know your subject! Remember you're writing for, and to, the professional
investigator and other legal professionals.
- Send your queries well ahead of the proposed publication date.
- Suggest sidebars that might be appropriate for your proposed article.
(Lists, website addresses, interviews, product information)
- Provide, or suggest, appropriate illustrative materials.
NOTE: PI Magazine does not publish reprints—please don't
ask.
